KANHA NATIONAL PARK

Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit the park will be from April to June and from November to January. From July to Mid-November, during the monsoon season, the park remains closed.
Flora & Fauna - Kanha National Park
The park greets tourists with its varied and enjoyable landscape. With bamboo forests, Sal forests and meadows, the area around appears like a true setting for a pleasant wildlife experience. The park gives an opportunity to see herds of spotted deer, herds of good-looking Antelope and the Black Buck. Seeing the timorous Barking Deer and the Rare Barasingha, the Swamp Deer, would be a reality here.

Kanha is extremely rich in wildlife and ensures a frequent spectacle of the big and small animals of your choice. With 175 varieties of birds, bird watcher would surely have a great time out here. Most of the tourists to the park come with a keen desire to see the most prized possession of the park: the Tiger. Many easily realize their dream of spotting a tiger here, though few have to return empty-handed as well. There is no need to get surprised by seeing all the grazers, a Porcupine, many Gray Langurs, Mongoose, Hyena, Jungle Cat, even a Leopard. Once in the Kanha, get ready to see varieties of Deer - the Barasingha, Chital or Spotted Deer, Chousingha, Nilgai, as well as the majestic Gaur or Indian Bison and wild Pig.

Jabalpur at 169-kms is the convenient rail head to visit Kanha.
By Road
Kanha National Park is connected by road with Jabalpur 175-kms, Khajuraho 445-kms, Nagpur 266-kms, Mukki 25-kms, Raipur 219-kms. Within the park: Koshi - Kanha (9-kms), Kishi - Katia (4-kms), Kishi - Mukki (32-kms). There is regular to and fro bus service available from Jabalpur to Kanha.
