DHARAMSALA
Dharmasala is beautifully located at the backdrop of scenic Dhauladhar mountains. The town is perched on the high slopes and divided into two widely isolated sections naming Upper Dharamsala and Lover Dharamsala. Presently Dharamsala holds the holiest religious sanctity in the heart of many devotees. The Dalai Lama is the frequent visitor of Dharamsala. St. John'S Church
Located at the distance of 7 kms upward from Dharamsala, the church was built in 1852. the church is sculptured in grey stone along with fine tuned Belgian tingy glass windows gifted by Lady Elgin. The popular name of the church is St. John in Wilderness.
Chamunda Devi Temple
At a very close distance from Dharamsala lies Chamunda Devi temple. This is one of the most fascinating as well as holiest spots for tourists and devotees who come here to pay their homage to the deity. The temple is decked with beautiful mountains like the Baner Khud, Pathiar and Lahla forests.
Maharana Pratap Sagar
Named after India’s one of the greatest warriors Maharana Pratap, the Maharana Pratap sagar is famous for being the 'Pong Dam Reservoir'. It is also a wildlife sanctuary declared in 1983. The park boasts of housing more than 220 species of birds from 54 families of their communities.
Norbulinka Institute
At the distance of 4 kms away from Dharamsala, there lies Norbulinka. The place is affected with utmost Japanese influence.
Nurpur Fort
It was earlier known as Dhameri. The fort is located at 66 kms away from Dharamsala and at the distance of 24 kms from Pathankot. Presently, though, the fort is time worn but still not lost its former charm.
Tsug-Lag-Khang
This is one of the most fascinating places of Dharamsala. The place is also known as Jokhang. The place is just situated to the opposite of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. A tour to the temple will let you see the various charms of Tibet religions.
