ANDHRA PRADESH
Andhra Pradesh is India’s one of the unique and the best follower of secularism states where people from different caste and faiths are living in peaceful harmony. History of the state
The people of Andhra Pradesh are said to be the descendent of Aryan race who are believed to have migrated to Vindhyas and acclimatised themselves with the non-Aryans. The state of Andhara Pradesh historically first experienced the reign of great Mauryan king Ashoka who after being himself as Buddhist implemented the Buddhism in the state.
This is India’s first state which came into existence on the basis of its linguistic dominance. When India became free, the Andhras, Telugu speaking people were allocated 21 districts while the rest nine and twelve became part of Nizam’s Dominions and Madras presidency respectively. Later, the districts of Madras State were united to form a new Andhra region and Kurnool was decided to be the capital city. Later, on November 1, 1956, it was decided to enlarge the Andhra state by adding nine districts from Nizam’s Dominion and consequently, the state of Hyderabad was formed followed by the decision of enlargement of Andhra state.
Culture of Andhra Pradesh
The rich and multi-hued culture of Andhra Pradesh can be known through the spectacle of melodious music, enchanting forms of dances, sumptuous cuisine, outstanding blends of arts and crafts and the amiable people of the state. The cultural heritage of the state had tremendous impressions of the then kings and rulers of several dynasties. Tourists Attractions in Andhra Pradesh
Charminar
This famous sightseeing attraction of Andhra Pradesh has its legend that the Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah founded the town in order to ward off an epidemic breakout from accessing to the main city. The monument with 48.7metre high minarets with granite built is flanked by four grand arches which have the name of Char Minar means four pillars. There is a lotus leaf that sustains the foundation of each Minar is said to be a regular design of the buildings built by Qutub Shahi.
Golconda Fort
This famous fort has its derivative forms from the Telugu words Golla Konda which stands for Shepherd's Hill. The Golconda fort was formerly a mud fort which is said to be dated back to the Kakatiya period. The tourist will find blends of various attractions here.
The Nizam’s Museum
This is a stately palace of Purani Haveli which is supposed to have seized by the second Nizam. The palace is now converted into a musem showcasing different gifts and mementos gifted to the last Nizam during the silver jubilee celebration in 1937. you will find here fascinating collection of models fabricated in silver present in all the famous buildings of the city. You can visit at the museum at any day except Friday from 10.30 am to 05.00 pm.
Nagarjuna Konda
Located at the distance of 150 kms from the capital city Hyderabad, the place is quite famous for being important site of housing India’s riches Buddhist lands. Now the site is totally lies under the Nagarjunasagar Dam. Most of the minerals unearthed during excavation of the land are preserved in a museums which also give brilliant insight to the daily life of the ancient Buddhist centre.
Amaravati
The site is reminiscent of an envoy of the emperor Ashoka who performed the responsibility of propagating Buddhism in the entire region of the land. He founded the Great Stupa at this place. The Stupa is made out of brick fitted with circular drum and platforms projecting in the four basic directions. You can see here a small Archaeological Museum visited by many tourists.
